A 30-minute drive from Perth, in the hills you'll arrive at WA's first and oldest national park. Numerous walking trails where you can admire marri, jarrah, gum, swamp peppermint and paperbark trees. There's also the Swan View Tunnel and if you're lucky, might get to see some western grey kangaroos sun baking! There are lots BBQs with undercover picnic tables, including old heritage huts!

You should first check with Mundaring council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
